History

Our history

The Glacier Of Bossons, target of the valley of Chamonix Mont Blanc, visible everywhere, is the highest fall of ice of the Alps (3630m) and the fastest glacier due to its strong slope (1m / 1m50 by day). Resulting directly from snows of the summits of Mont-Blanc (4810m), of Mont-Maudit (4345m) and of Mont-Blanc du Tacul (4248m), it was in 1786, the historic way borrowed by Jacques Balmat and Dr Paccard during the 1st ascent of the roof of Europe, Mont Blanc. The chairlift of Bossons, length of 1102m, dates as for him 1960 and welcomed in 1962, a world championship of ski where the chamoniard Richard Bozon took away the golden medal in slalom.

Our philosophy

The tourist development society of Vormaine, strong of its experience (since 1957) and based on a qualified team, conscientious, respecting safety regulations and tuned to listening the clientele, wishes to allow the largest number to discover this mythical place of the valley of Chamonix Mont-Blanc which is the site of the Bossons glacier.
